Story: This piece came into being by the breath of a fellow burner who (in the truest spirit of burning man) took time out of his life, put a torch in my hand, and taught me to use fire to morph metal into a likeness unto my imagination. Thanks for the experience sCary. I hope that this piece brings warmth, heat, light and fire into many many lives.
Symbolism: To me, the Lotus represents the essence of a being, it's nature, it's soul, and thought. The Lotus is open, thus the mind is open and is receptive to experiences. Combining the Lotus with the sacred fire just seemed like the right thing to do.

Story: I have done the burn barrel workshop in the past. The joy and pleasure that I derived from doing this with the community was beautiful. I have led a blessed life. It is my belief that I need to return the gift. My skill talent and sheer joy of teaching are what allow me to easily gift this back to the community. I also believe in the Pagoda project. It is great to see all the people and their ideas flourishing. To be a part of this is a great experience.

Title: The Sounds of Burning Man

Story: Dismayed at what I considered the under representation of audio media used to portray Burning Man, I started thinking about what I would like to hear in an audio CD length format that would transport me back to the Burn long after leaving the Playa. This was the genesis of the project. I sought and received permission from the Burning Man organization to pursue this effort. This work is an hour of sound from Burning Man 2003. It contains dialog, music, art sounds, etc.; anything with an audio signature that communicates something or tells a short audio story about being at Burning Man. This work is divided into 15 themed tracks. You will want to find a quiet room in which you can spend an hour, don some headphones, close your eyes, and be prepared to be transported back to Burning Man by way of the magic of sound and your own memories.
